Governments across Canada and around the world are challenged with developing solutions to decarbonize industrial emissions. The task is complex with multiple internal and external stakeholders, all with competing interests and needs.
Bridging the research to practice gap
CMC is uniquely positioned as a neutral not-for-profit working to bridge the research to practice technology gap. The respect we garner as a neutral organization of globally recognized scientific researchers means we can convene working groups and facilitate stakeholder engagement processes such as workshops and other interactive exercises.
Research services
As a non-advocacy group that began as a research funding body, we are connected to Canada’s top scientists in the policy/economy and technology arms of carbon management. We draw on that network to provide governments and other clients with research services that range from contract research studies, to data collection through facilitated stakeholder workshops, to literature reviews, to technical and environmental scans.
Research funding administration and support
CMC has a proven track record of administering excellent research programs including calls for proposals, administration of technical and strategic reviews, facilitation of consolidated collaborative teams, identification of international expert advisors, tracking of performance against proposals, and release of funding on achievement of milestones and deliverables. We are able to provide some or all of these services in support of third party funding groups.
Commitment to action
Our rigorous Performance Verification Program, the Regional Waste Energy Mapping Program, and our field-testing sites and capabilities are other ways CMC is able to provide governments with the information and tools to aid in decision-making processes.
